We have a lovely studio with restroom/ changing area, and a waiting and play space for family members with wifi and TV. Parents of child models are asked to be present at the photo shoot, and may sit inside the studio or watch from a viewing window.

Why isn't this free? Why aren't you paid to model?
We are not seeking professional models at this time-- we are booking local families, who either would normally pay full price for a photo session anyway, or maybe who could not afford a photo session normally, in exchange for a deep discount. The best fit for models, are people who are used to having their pictures taken.
This session is for an established photographer who wants to gain more experience working with the painterly method, which is an advanced photography skill that takes many hours to edit. The images you receive in return for your modeling, will be far better than a typical photoshoot. This is not something we offer every year. When the need has been filled, there will not be another reduced session offered for the year, or perhaps even several years.
Pricing
There is a $75 non-refundable booking fee, which will be put towards your final session cost. This allows us to book only serious models who intend to show up and be present on the day of their shoot. Included in the booking fee, we allow for up to 3 reschedules in the event of illness, emergency, or if your child is unable to cooperate for some reason.
Sessions (before your discount) range from $450 for headshot style, $550 for newborn or fairy session, to $650 for a full head to toe, glamorous painterly portrait. We will work with you to establish a plan for the ideal portrait for you, with regards to what spaces we have left. Discount structure begins at $200 off, so it is a significant savings.
We encourage children to bring something special to them-- an instrument, a beloved teddy bear, a hat, ballet shoes, soccer ball, etc. Incorporating meaningful props can lead to beautiful results. We can also do "fairy" portraits, with wings and special effects if your child likes, although this will be limited to two models this year. Maternity photos will be done with large, voluminous dresses or fabric wraps that create a luxe look.
Optional Costs
You may incur costs for your outfit(s), (or maybe you already have the perfect thing waiting in your closet, and that is great too!).
We prefer that models dress up in formal attire, like a ball gown or suit pants/ suspenders or tie, with complete hair and makeup done (female models). We have a limited selection of formal attire for children and maternity drapes available to borrow. We can also recommend other resources.
We provide attire and props for newborn sessions.
What you will receive:
Models will receive a 45-60 minute photo session in the studio, and five fully edited images of their best looks, to use however they choose in a non-commercial way, forever!
You will also receive access to a gallery of other images from your session that you can include in your package if you choose. Because this is a modeling session, the point is to create images suitable for marketing materials, so there will be focus on what we think are the "best shots", but we actually take 75-300 images during your session. You will be able take a peek to see if you would like us to edit any other photos that we weren't planning to use. These are normally $50-100 per image for standard editing, but you will receive them at half the cost.
We also give all prints "at cost" to our models, for up to one year. That means you will only pay what we pay our printer to get physical prints of any images you choose. Price list available when your receive your gallery password.
Artwork
Should you choose to have an image "mastered", we will give you information on what it costs to have your favorite photograph turned into a framed, art piece. This is 100% optional, and will never be pushed on any client. We don't do sales pitches, and you should know, this additional service is an investment, and it does take extra time to process.
The very minimal outcome of modeling for us, is that you end up with nice, unique portraits to share with friends and family within 6-8 weeks from your session.
